Besides using citric acid and vinegar, you may also purchase descaling sachets to clean your Tommee Tippee bottle sterilizer. Descaling sachets are an effective abrasive powder that is capable of removing the limescale build-up. Each descaling sachet contains 25g powder that when mixed with water can make up a liter of descaling solution. Nevertheless, descaling sachets are less abrasive than both the citric acid and the vinegar solution but are also more precise to keep your bottle sterilizer clean, shiny, and limescale-free.
To clean and descale your bottle sterilizer using descaling sachets, you simply pour a sachet into the sterilizer with some water. Close the sterilizer, plug into the power outlet, set it to standard sterilization cycle, and allow it to run for one cycle. Then rinse the sterilizer with warm water without scrubbing. Only scrub sponge dishwasher if limescale residue is left behind.
